humble beginnings pt. 2
#ThrowbackThursday
The beauty of looking back at your old work is seeing how far you've come. These series of pictures I believe happened in July/August 2017 and there's elements I like and dislike. Let's breakdown this photoshoot.
Likes:
If you've read humble beginnings pt. 1 you'd know my biggest dislike was that I was the only model featured. I fixed that up with bringing in a female model (her name is Sara by the way, and I appreciate her help).
The second reason I like this photoshoot is because of where the pictures were taken... location is key. We didn't limit ourselves to one single location but, drove around searching for the best streetwear-esque areas the Gold Coast has to offer.
Dislikes:
I'm willing to cop the blame because (looking back at it) I'm unhappy with the use of light. At that time I absolutely had no photography skills. And now, after completing a 6 week photography class, I for sure know how I would've worked the light differently. In the above image, for example, I'd make sure no shadows are being cast across the models creating an evenly lit shot.
I'd again switch up who's modelling. Sara and I basically have the same look, black hair and dark skin. By mixing it up more (such as bringing in a blonde or lighter skinned model) I'd open up to a broader target market.
By saying that I'd also get more creative with the types of poses. Fun, quirky poses will demonstrate that it feels good to be wearing GOD GIVEN TALENT.
Now time for your thoughts. Comment below what you believe the pros and cons are for this photoshoot. Who knows, you might disagree with the harsh assessment of my work.
